The real reason is the priviledge of being used by God to impact a life. If once a day, I can make one person laugh, smile, or take their mind off of life's craziness, then I've done my job. It's my prayer, that in some way, He can use me on the radio everyday.

What movitates me . The reason I get out of bed (at 3am) every morning.
New for Summer 08' Summertime reminds me of concerts and here's my TOP 5 of all time! From left to right: U2, Sarah McLachlan, Metallica, Linkin Park & Kid Rock. Honorable mentions: Mercy Me, The Dixie Chicks, Newsboys (1st time I felt God's presence), DC Talk & Garth Brooks.
New additon: My favorite voices of all time. From left to right: Sarah McLachlan, Kevin Max (formerly of DC Talk), Chester Bennington & Sebastian Bach.
New Kids on the Block (The Reunion): Time to Blog In my Mtv hay-day (late 80's/early 90's) the New Kids were huge! I understand the hype and can even acknowledge the magnitude of their reunion in the eyes of 25 to 40 yr old women everywhere. I get it, but what I really want is the greatest reunion tour of all time, I'll even give it a name 'Big Hair is Back: The World Invasion Tour' From left to right (original line-ups only): Skid Row, Guns & Roses, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Poison & RATT! A man can only dream: LONG LIVE HAIR BANDS FROM THE 80's! The "We were big in the 90's Tour" is coming next.
And now my extremely LAME picture with MB20!!! Are you serious? How did they mess it up that bad?!? From left to right, Kyle, my buddy Graham, Brian, me, Rob, two complete strangers and Paul. For the record, this photographer was fired immediately upon delivery of this picture!
A few things you should know about me: ENTERTAINMENT (TELEVISION) This is the best show on TV. If you aren't a believer yet, it's time to go rent all of the previous seasons on dvd and take in all of the sweet, sweet goodness that is Jack, Kate, Hurley, Locke, Ben, and Sawyer.
SportsCenter. Enough said.

Then there's VH-1. I can watch almost every reality show on this channel and I can't tell you why. Right now it's Celebrity Fit Club Boot Camp and it's freaking awesome!
Even Mrs. Paper like Idol & she hardly watches any tv. For all things idol, go to idolonfox.com. And last but definitely not least, it's all about JACK! Every one should take in some 24 goodness every now and then. Critics say it's lost the edge, they even call it predictable, here's what I say to that, I DON'T CARE! 24 is still one of the best shows on TV. Long live Bauer!
What's important to me.

Below were my predictions for TOP 10.
From left to right: David Cook, Jason Castro, David Archuleta, Danny Noriega & Michael Johns. I wanted to say Chikezie because I think he's a better singer than Danny, but Big "D" is classic and I have to go with him.
From left to right: Syesha Mercado, Amanda Overmyer, Ramiele Malubay, Alaina Whitaker & Brooke White. Okay, so I was wrong, but 7 out of 10 isn't that bad. MY IDOL BLOG: The season Michael Johns got Jack'd! 02-29-08 - The top 20 is now top16 and just for the record...ALAINA GOT JACK'D!!! Are you kidding? Kady over Alaina! If this was 'Britney Impersonation Idol' maybe but with this being a "singing" competition, that was horrible. America got that one wrong! Although it wouldn't be the first time...Taylor Hicks!
03-07-08 - Man I picked three out of the four cast-offs this week, but was bummed about Danny going over Chikezie. Sure, my man wasn't going to win, but personality alone, had me convinced he was going Top 10. I really think his crazy "Santa YouTube" video actually had an impact on him going home. Dude, Danny, that video was horrible man. You gotta know that if it's out there, people are going to find stuff like that. Have you ever heard of the word 'Delete'. One stroke of that button to your YouTube video and you still might be on Idol!
03-13-08 - FINALLY America and I agree! After their performances, it was obvious that Kristy Lee Cook and David H. were going to be the two on the chopping block and the right idol was picked to go. It's not that David was a horrible singer, but next to people like Michael Johns, David Cook and Jason Castro, it was a no-brainer that he was not going to make the top 10. Although, Kristy, enjoy your time, because unless you knock it waaaaay out of the park next week, it's all over but the country crying. By the way, feel free to put Jim Carrey on Idol every week!
03-20-08 - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? How in the world is Kristy Lee Lame still on Idol? I knew that Amanda wasn't going to win this thing, but I thought for sure she would make it into the top 10. This 'Idol Tragedy' just might cause me to text in a vote! To think that if I actually go to the Idol tour this year, I'll have to sit through a Kristy Lee Cook set. Seriously, I'd rather watch Clay Aiken do a ballet opera style! Okay, maybe it's not that bad, but DUDE she's got to go. Props to you Amanda. You stayed true to your look, your sound and your not to much of a personality and that's why I loved ya!
03-27-09 - Seeing Chikezie go last night wasn't what shocked me at all. Considering I didn't even have him in my top 10, I knew it was only a matter of time, but seeing Jason Castro and Syesha in the bottom three really threw me for a loop. How in the world did Ramielle get out of that? Don't get me wrong, I actually like Rami, but for to many weeks in a row she's hid that big, powerful voice and if she don't step it up, she's donecakes! I think next week is Country week and you know what that means right?!? Kristy Lee Cook might actually stick around another week. I'll act like I didn't even type that out. Go Michael J!
04-04-08 - Peace-out Ramielle! Part of me was bummed because during her audition she belted out this huge voice and i was rooting for her, but after so many horrible weeks, it wasn't a surprise that America kicked her off. Although, I was really thrown to see Brooke make the bottom three, but then again, Kristy Lee Cook is still on the show. Michael was by far my favorite of the 'Dolly Parton' night, but I can't leave out my girl Syesha too. I thought she nailed those super hard 'Whitney Houston' notes and still have her in my Top 3. Next week is Idol Gives Back, so once again, Kristy Lee, I don't know how you're doing it, but you're safe again!
4-11-08 - Are you freaking kidding me?!? Is anyone else as annoyed as I am with this week's elimination? I don't even know where to begin. Not only would I never predicted Michael being in the bottom three this week, there's NO WAY I would of had him going home. For the first time this year, I was actually upset after watching Idol this week. Not even Kristly Lee Cook still being there gets me more annoyed/shocked/blown away than the guy who I picked to win the entire thing MICHAEL JOHNS getting the boot! Weak-Sauce!!!
4-17-08 - IT'S ABOUT TIME! It came down to Brooke and Kristy, and although Brooke should have gone (hate to admit that) justice finally prevailed and Kristy Lee Cook got the boot. I need to be fair though, as much crap that I've given KLC on the air, I found myself actually enjoying her. Not necessarily her singing (which did get better) but her personality started to win me over a little bit. But, don't fool yourself, I'm much happier now that she's off the show headed back to her ranch to dream about her "He won't sell it back to me" horse. Peace-Out Miss Cook!
4-25-08 - I never was the biggest Carly fan, but I still thought she got robbed. This week it should have been Brooke or Jason going home. I thought for sure with her tats covered up two weeks in a row and her husband actually smiling on camera, she was gonna be safe, but once again America threw me for a loop. The big question is will Carly land another record deal (she already had one that tanked) and finally hit the bigtime? To be honest, I'm not sure, I do know that she's got a really powerful voice, a hubby with a ton of tats on his face and she gives the craziest looks with her eyes that I've ever seen!
Did you know Carly's old record label spent over 2 million dollars on promoting her debut cd? It only sold just over 300 copies which you can now get on Amazon for a penny. Below is the video to her "hit" single. And look, no tats! 05-01-08 - She messed up songs, she talked over the judges and yet we still loved her! On a week where Jason Castro should have gone home, we finally had to say goodbye to Brooke. Let's be honest, we knew she was never going to win, but my goodness, was Brooke one of the most like-able "idols" of all time or what?!? She could be the nanny of Baby Paper anytime. What do you think though, does she go on to a huge music career or back to watching people's kids? I say go for it Brooke. Take that smile and somewhat decent voice and go grab yourself some time in the spotlight.
05-08-08 - And then there were three. After jackin' up the lyrics like that, did JC really have a chance to stay? He was never going to win this thing, but man it was fun having the 'dreaded' one around. When Simon asked him, "What were you thinking," after he played that Bob Marley song and Jason replied with, "I was thinking Bob Marley!" That was one of my favorite Idol moments of this season! I'll miss ya Jay but I'm sure we haven't heard the last of you.
05-15-08 - As much as I wanted David A to get kicked off this week, I knew my girl Syesha was gonna go! I thought, for the most part, the judges (even Simon who I love) gave her a rough time throughout this entire thing. Although, if you go back in Idol history, the third place Idol typically goes on to do big things. I'll be okay with her getting the boot, just as long as David C rises up and punks 'The Archuleta'. GO COOK!
05-23-08 - As Season 7 comes to an end, let me say this first - MICHAEL JOHNS should have won! With that out of the way, it was glorious to see David C take it over David A. Lil' a has an amazingly consistent sounding voice, but if you're looking marketability, David Cook was the clear-cut winner. It was great to finally see a 'rocker' take home the crown and I hope DC has as much success as the Big D. Don't think to hard on that one. Well, until next year, Simon we'll miss your mouth, Randy we'll miss you saying the same things every week and Paula we'll miss every second of your craziness. There's only one Paula Abdull and the loopier the better. Here's to Season 8!!!
Music is powerful. If you made me choose - here are my favorite albums of all time.

From left to right: Sarah McLachlan, DC Talk, Pearl Jam, Jeremy Camp, Guns & Roses Currently I'm listening too...(June 08')
From left to right: Nikka Costa, Flyleaf (fav right now),Danity Kane (don't ask), Phil Wickham & Mercy Me.
This is one of my favorite videos of all time. Power + Beauty this screams of God's creativity! And just so you know, he made it out alive! Amazing sunsets, great people, lots of sleeping in, time with my wife and all the food we could eat! If you didn't get in on our last KHOP cruise to Mexico, do your best not to miss the next one. Here's just a few of my favorite pix. To see the rest, go to "The Space."
A few more things you should know about me: ENTERTAINMENT (MOVIES) I'm a self-proclamimed movie geek and here are just a few of my favorites. Give me a Pepsi and a flick and I'm good!
From left to right: Gladiator, Lord of the Rings 'Return of the King', 300, Transformers, Titanic, Forrest Gump, Dumb & Dumber |
