“Idol Giveaway presented by KHOP @95.1” Rules

1. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Watch “FOX 40
MORNING NEWS” 8-9am PT Monday through Friday May 12, 2014 to
May 16, 2014, and look for the designated American Idol code word to
appear on-screen and announced by a morning anchor or reporter.
Viewers will be instructed to remember the word and then be caller 9 at
9a, 2p or 5pm, the same day, on KHOP @95.1, KHOP’s request line at
800-548-0951. If you have the correct code word, you win a qualifying
prize (CD prize pack), provided by KHOP. If fewer than 9 entrants call
within 30 minutes after the contest is announced each hour, the last call
within the 30 minute period will receive the qualifying prize subject to
verification of eligibility. All qualifiers are then entered in the grand prize
random drawing taking place Monday, May 19, 2014 on KHOP at 7AM.
Must be at least 18 years old to enter.
KHOP and KTXL FOX40 will not be responsible for broadcasting or
telephone system delays or malfunctions. If the on-air clue fails to air due
to technical difficulties, program preemptions, breaking news, or any other
reason that prevents the word from being aired, that day’s word will be
moved to the 9-10am hour, if possible. If the word doesn’t air that day,
there will be no qualifying winners for that day.
2. ENTRY DEADLINE: Contest begins Monday, May 12th @8:01am and
ends Friday, May 16th @ 5:30pm (“Contest Period”).
3. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: Winners will be selected
and notified by KHOP by phone. Odds of winning for a qualifying winner
are 1 in 15.
4. THE PRIZE:
All qualifying winners will receive 1 CD Prize Pack (ARV: $10) provided by
KHOP & FOX40.
Grand Prize: Trip for two to the American Idol non-finale show
Tuesday, May 20th and finale show Wednesday May 21st
• Roundtrip Coach Class Airline Transportation from Sacramento, Stockton
or Modesto area airport (as chosen by sponsor) to a Los Angeles area
airport chosen by sponsors. Winner and travel companion must travel
together on specified dates.
• Deluxe lodging (double room) for two (2) nights
• $100 Visa Gift Card to help cover ground transportation from LA Area
Airport to hotel
• A pair of tickets to the taping of the non-finale show Tuesday, May 20th
and finale show Wednesday May 21st
Grand Prize ARV: $ 2,000
5. Grand prize winner, and travel companion, must appear in person at
KHOP located at 3136 Boeing Way, Stockton, CA 95206 during station
business hours, 9a-5p, on Monday, May 19th, 2014 to claim their prize.
Winner, and travel companion, must present a valid ID and complete an
affidavit of eligibility and release to receive their prizes. Federal, state and
local taxes are the responsibility of the winner, who will receive a 1099 tax
form reflecting the value of the prize.
In the event production of the American Idol Finale shows is cancelled or
postponed, trip will be forfeited and no consolation prize will be given.
Sponsors are not responsible if the event is canceled, postponed, or
delayed. Winner and guest must be available to travel on specified dates.
6. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS: Winner must be at least 18 years of age
and companion must be 13 years or older and must be under grand prize
winner’s guardianship or parentage. Must reside in the KTXL FOX40
viewing area and be a legal resident of California with valid federal or state
photo identification. Employees (and their family members) of KTXL LLC,
Tribune Broadcasting Company LLC, FOX, Fox Entertainment Group,
FOX Networks Group, Inc., 21st Century Fox, FreemantleMedia North
America, Inc., American Idol Productions, Inc, 19 Management, 19 TV
Unlimited, 19 Entertainment, Inc., CORE Media Group, Inc., Cumulus
Media, KHOP and their parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliated and
related entities, the officers, directors, employees, licensees and
assignees of each, as well as their promotional agencies are not eligible to
enter or win. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
7. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: By entering, each entrant agrees that
Sponsors have the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising
from this contest and that their decisions are final and binding. By
entering, each entrant grants permission, without further compensation, to
KTXL LLC, Tribune Broadcasting Company LLC, FOX, Fox Entertainment
Group, FOX Networks Group, Inc., 21st Century Fox, FreemantleMedia
North America, Inc., American Idol Productions, Inc, 19 Management, 19
TV Unlimited, 19 Entertainment, Inc., CORE Media Group, Inc., Cumulus
Media, KHOP and their parent, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliated and
related entities, the officers, directors, employees, licensees and
assignees of each, as well as their promotional agencies to use the
entrant's and travel companion’s name, voice, photograph, likeness and
biographical material for broadcast and promotional purposes in
connection with the contest. By entering, each entrant agrees that if
selected as the grand prize winner, he/she, and travel companion, will sign
a FOX40 and KHOP release and waiver of liability. The prize will be
forfeited if the winner does not execute the prepared form of release and
waiver on Monday, May 19, 2014 or if the selected winner is not eligible in
accordance with these rules. By entering, contestants agree to release
KTXL LLC, Tribune Broadcasting Company LLC, Cumulus Media, KHOP,
FOX, Fox Entertainment Group, FOX Networks Group, Inc., 21st Century
Fox, FreemantleMedia North America, Inc., American Idol Productions,
Inc, 19 Management, 19 TV Unlimited, 19 Entertainment, Inc., CORE
Media Group, Inc., and their parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliated and
related entities, the officers, directors, employees, licensees and
assignees of each, as well as their promotional agencies from any claim,
loss, liability, damage or injury of any kind arising from their participation in
the contest, receipt or use of the contest prize, or contest-related travel or
activity. No substitute prizes are available. If breaking news, program
preemption, or other unforeseen events interrupt or prevent the
administration of this contest, KTXL FOX40 and KHOP reserve the right to
modify or cancel this contest. If for any reason, this Contest is not capable
of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, tampering, fraud,
technical failure, or any other cause which corrupts or threatens the
administration, security or integrity of the Contest, Sponsors reserve the
right, in their sole discretion, to terminate or suspend the Contest in whole
or in part or to modify contest procedures. ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE
OR UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS
CONTEST WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE
CONTEST.
